Prix Auguste Bachelin
It is with great pleasure that Apian has been awarded the 2024 Auguste Bachelin Prize in the Fine Arts category. Given annually since 1950, this prize originates from an inheritance made in 1937 by Miss Rose-Alsa Schuler, the niece of Auguste Bachelin (1830-1890), a historian, writer, and painter from Neuchâtel. This bequest, made in memory of her uncle, is intended to reward, in rotation, a recipient from Neuchâtel in the three disciplines practised by Auguste Bachelin: history, writing, and fine arts.
The jury recognised this multidisciplinary aspect of Apian, which focuses on the complex and crucial issue of relations between humans and non-humans.
Words from the jury.
The award ceremony will take place on Monday 22 April at 6:30 pm in the Circular Room of the Public and University Library of Neuchâtel (BPUN), with the presence of Liza Trottet (Neuchâtel Art Centre) and Marie-Thérèse Bonadonna (Head of the Canton of Neuchâtel’s Cultural Service), among others.
